APICOECTOMY
An apicoectomy is a minor surgical procedure performed when inflammation or infection persists after a root canal treatment. In some cases, non surgical retreatment alone may not fully resolve the problem, and a surgical approach is recommended to preserve the tooth. During the procedure, a small incision is made in the gum tissue to access the underlying bone and root tip. The infected tissue and the very end of the tooth's rot (the apex) are carefully removed.
The end of the root canal is then sealed to prevent further reinfection and promote healing. An apicoectomy is a highly effective procedure that can often save a tooth when conventional root canal treatment is not sufficient, helping you maintain your natural smile.
